Hi all!
Ok it's been a little while since you've seen any imagery from the project but there's been good reason for that. I've been spending a lot of time learning about compositing and how to prepare your scene properly for the compositing stage. There are a lot of things you can correct or change in the composite if the scene is set up correctly, meaning that changes may not require a re-render if the compositor is doing the work for you.
With that in mind, I've been doing some work on the TSA hallway, expanding the current design and adding more detail. I was inspired by a Blender tutorial by Blender Guru Andrew Price in which he had lighting set up in the floor. The effect was dramatic and I wanted to replicate that in the hallway.
So, without further ado, here's today's update!
Enjoy!
Hello, it's been awhile since you've updated. How is everything going?
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteEverything is going well thanks; lots of things happening behind closed doors that I can't share with you at the moment, but it will be worth waiting for ;)
That hallway looks great! However, I would suggest you to not put that much lighting on the floor. Maybe small strips of lighting along the corners perhaps? Anyway, keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteThanks for the feedback; don't worry I was thinking the same thing, but you've got to try these things to see if they work. Nothing is fixed or finalised yet :)
Nice work bro!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing this passion!
Hi Márcio,
DeleteMany thanks for your kind words! Glad you enjoy what we're doing :)
Don't know if you knew, but renderfarm.fi is back up and running!
ReplyDeleteHi Shawn,
DeleteAh thanks for letting me know, that's great news! Now just to shrink the Blender and texture files down so they fit oon their system hehe!
Hey! I've been popping in and out of checking out this project, I would love to see this finished. I still play the game to this day periodically, and really believe it's a game that's a classic in PC RPG gaming. It'd be awesome to see this pop up in kickstarter, but of course, it'd probably be too much trouble for you in regards to licensing. Either way, just giving you KUDOS and encouraging to keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteBlogger's pages feature would be a great way to add an FAQ page with contact info and info on the game (project overview, how you plan to stitch the panoramas and movies, what platforms it will be for, contact info, etc.). Hopefully things are going well. :)
