TSA: Pegasus Texture Push v2

Hello!

Here's a couple of updated shots from work done last night - one up close and personal and the other "overview" shot.  One thing I'm slightly concerned about is that the overview shot looks more like a model rather than full-scale; however I'm not going to worry about this until the "launch" animation comes back.  If it still looks phony, I'll look and see how it can be changed.

In the meantime, enjoy!

  2. The reason the overview shot looks like a model is because there isn't enough detail. The shinier metal bars are too reflective, and it looks as if they were all "punched out" from a piece of plastic, and then applied. The shiny metal bars need more detail, as does the rest of the model. They also need to be less reflective. Lines need to be thinner, so it looks like a larger object.

The darker metals also don't have enough detail, and look more like injection molded plastic with a matte surface texture.

Still, good work as always. I'm sure you'll iron out these problems.

  3. Can't wait for the Pegasus "launch" animation! Hopefully the animation will feature the sounds! Yeah!

  4. Agree with the more detail comment; also, a subtle haze effect might give a better indication of distance.

  5. Hello,
My name is Andrew Butler and I'm a huge fan of the Journeyman Project from its original Release. I was doing some nostalgia searching after hearing a song reference a "pegasus device" and found your blog here.... and I knew I had to contact you.

I'm a entertainment technology student at a Louisiana college (A college you probably have never heard of, and etech is like computer science focusing on video games) and I was wondering if you might need a extra programmer to help out with your project? I'm fluent in C++ and I can pic up other languages pretty easily. I've never touched blender but my professor teaches it and he can probably give me some reference material and get me on the right track to help you guys.

I gotta be honest. I have zero stuff to show for portfolio wise... so I'm really hoping you'll consider me so that I can say I helped on something big and might be looked at more closely by potential companies.

I'm not sure if you'll see this message but I'll give you my email in case you actually see this and consider me at all.

Its Andrew.Butler93@gmail.com. This is something that I would be super eager to work on and would make sure to devote long hours and hard work on even the most tedious code inspecting if that's all you have for me.

    Thank you for your consideration,
    Drew B.

    1. Hi, yes the project is still going on, however my time is limited at the moment due to work commitments. I am working on the project as and when I can, as is the rest of the team.

      Thanks for the interest!
